Motorola iRadio Named Best Radio Service -- Again

For a second, I thought I was experiencing Deja Vu -- but nope.  Motorola iRadio was named the Best Radio Service at the 2006 Billboard Digital Entertainment, Media + Marketing Excellence Awards (DEMMX) ceremony.  iRadio beat out SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Yahoo!® Music.

iRadio won the same award last year at the same event, beating out AOL, Yahoo, LAUNCHcast,  and XM Satellite Radio. Worth noting, iRadio was also named the Best Mobile Music Service at the 2006 Digital Music Conference in November.  VCast must be kicking itself, HARD.  Not too shabby for a product that has yet to launch nationally.  ...Hey, how did Mike Gaumond get to be on those judge panels?  :)

And hey, Sandra Bernhart performed -- here are a couple pics, thanks to an anonymous attendee:

Motorola Crew at Music Leadership Digital Summit 2006

The Motorola Digital Media Solutions crew was at Leadership Music Digital Summit 2006 ('..a full day dedicated to the business, creative, and legal issues surrounding digital music..') a couple weeks ago.  And so were Mp3-playing Pez Dispensers!!

Mike Gaumand, VP & General Manager, spoke on the panel titled "New Radio" which discussed internet/satellite/wireless/etc. radio.

Dave Ulmer, Sr. Director of Marketing, first hosted a session entitled "Gadgets, What's In The Bag?" along with Ted Cohen (Sr. VP, Digital Development & Distribution, EMI Music).  Immediately afterwards, Dave moderated the panel entitled "Music & Entertainment Innovations," which discussed new distribution technologies for music, video, and movies.

Busy, busy.  The snapshot below was taken of an article in the Tennessean (click to enlarge...a paid subscription is required to view the full article) showing Ted and Dave showing off some gadgets.  Check out the Mp3-playing Pez dispenser...awesome.
